Our Story
The founder of The Davis Community was Champion Davis and the restaurant is named after his mother, Cornelia Nixon Davis. Born on September 2, 1842, Cornelia was a strong Southern woman and made delicious meals for her family and boarders in her home, including many of the favorites found on the menu today! Her flannel cakes were so popular, they were included in a cookbook. Cornelia majored in piano and voice in college and her love of music continues with weekly live music at the restaurant.
